MCC, PCC, VFD Panels – Understanding Industrial Electrical Control Panels

By Venkatesh Tandel, Automation Solution Engineering · Bangalore · 2026

Electrical control panels are the nerve centre of any industrial machine or production facility. They control, protect, and monitor all the electrical equipment on a factory floor. At ASE, we manufacture MCC panels, PCC panels, VFD panels, APFC panels, and custom machine control panels for factories across Bangalore, Goa, Pune, and Mumbai.

What is an MCC Panel?

A Motor Control Centre (MCC) is an assembly of one or more enclosed sections that contain electrical equipment for controlling and protecting multiple electric motors. MCC panels group all motor starters, overload relays, contactors, and control devices in a single location, making it easy to operate and maintain a factory's motor-driven equipment.

What is a PCC Panel?

A Power Control Centre (PCC) is the main incoming power distribution panel in a factory. It receives power from the transformer or grid supply and distributes it to sub-panels, MCCs, and large loads. PCC panels include incoming circuit breakers, busbars, metering, and protection relays.

What is a VFD Panel?

A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) panel houses variable frequency drives (also called inverters) that control the speed of AC motors by varying the frequency and voltage of the power supply. VFD panels are used for belt conveyors, fans, pumps, and compressors where variable speed control saves energy and reduces mechanical wear.

What is an APFC Panel?

An Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) panel automatically maintains the power factor of a factory's electrical installation close to unity (1.0), reducing energy bills and penalties from the electricity board.

At ASE, all control panels are designed to IS/IEC standards, with proper busbar sizing, cable ferrule marking, earthing, and thermal overload protection. We provide fully wired, tested, and commissioned panels ready for installation.
